100% unPURE Exhibition - with Flying City
100% unPURE with Flying City - Govett Brewester Gallery 2007
100% unPURE - part of the Activating Korea exhibition was an interesting project involving several Taranaki Artists workshopping with Korean Urban Research artists Flying City. Facilitated by and exhibited at the Govett Brewster Art Gallery in New Plymouth, local artist Che Rogers and myself and were brought into the project as design consultants - providing remote feedback and dialogue with the artists in Korea for the months leading up to their residency. Once the artists arrived in NZ we workshopped with them and several other artists and designers to ceate the Activating Korea installation - 100% unPURE. I included some of my fabric corner lights along with my rods and rocks game for the installation.
Working around the concept of the 100% Pure advertising campagin being pushed at the time we explored ideas of green marketing/washing, good ole kiwi ingenuity, nationalistic design heritage, urbanism and development.
Materials: Mixed Media.
Installation Location: Govett Brewster Art Gallery, Taranaki 2007.
