Engage was a CNZ-funded project that explored new materials and developed new works for exhibition.  

The works were made using bamboo panelling and recycled rubber from car tyres. They were designed so audiences could interact, explore, and physically engage with them. 

Engage was exhibited in 2004 at the Dowse Art Museum and at Objectspace. A reported 27,000 visitors had the opportunity to interact with the works.
